 HIGH ADDED-VALUE SOLUTIONS FOR THE COSMETICS INDUSTRY

MOTIVATION

In developed countries, beauty and wellbeing are the two most important health factors in society.

That is why the development of new functional beauty products is widely accepted in the market and even more so when the technologies incorporated to ensure success increase the technical potential of the product by enhancing stability, permanence, control of functionality, etc.

This is the context within which the project was created, based on the study of trends, consumer needs and the concerns of manufacturers in the Valencian Community.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the project is to study and develop high-end solutions for the cosmetics sector, and it has been divided into 3 lines of study according to the field of action and the technologies used to achieve the final objectives:

Line 1) Research and development of micro/nano encapsulated functional active compounds for application in cosmetic/nutricosmetic skin-enhancing formulae.

The aim is to study the encapsulation of different active ingredients (probiotics, peptides, DETOX compounds, antipollution, etc.) in order to improve their stability and achieve controlled release over time, increasing their effectiveness. For application in cosmetics and nutricosmetics.

Line 2) Research and development of functional nanoveils for cosmetic applications.

In this case, the aim is to study the development of new cosmetic forms based on electrospinning technology to protect a highly sensitive functional asset, achieving a progressive release of an active compound upon contact with the skin.

Line 3) Study for the formulation of hair products.

A study of different solutions to achieve enhanced results and new effects on hair.

EXPECTED RESULTS

The results are expected to produce a range of solutions that improve the properties of existing products or that offer innovative solutions in the field of hair cosmetics, topical cosmetics and nutricosmetics with skin care products.
