As of mid-January 2023, ECHA has added nine chemicals to the Candidate List due to their hazardous properties. These products are typically used in flame retardants, paints and coatings, inks and toners, coating products, plasticisers and in the manufacture of pulp and paper.
The Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern now contains two hundred and thirty three entries for chemicals that may pose a risk to public health and the environment. Companies are responsible for managing the risks of these chemicals and must provide their customers and consumers with information on how to use them safely.
