The technological advances taking place within the textile industry are closely linked to the digital transformation taking place in general. The DIGITALIZA-T project identifies and supports a whole range of specific and personalised initiatives designed to ensure that the necessary skills required by the textile industry are developed and adapted to its needs.
The general objective of AITEX’s DIGITALIZA-T project is to identify and support a range of initiatives aimed at Valencian manufacturers with respect to digitalisation and Industry 4.0 in the textile industry.
In order to achieve the final objective, a series of milestones have been established that will define AITEX’s technological capability and help overcome the difficulties mentioned earlier (lack of knowledge of the technologies involved, lack of Industry 4.0 skills and insufficient technological supply, etc.). The project’s specific objectives are: to ensure that the concept of Industry 4.0 and its associated technologies are well understood and that the necessary skills are appropriately developed.
It is vital that manufacturers within the sector are aware of the opportunities presented by digital transformation and of the need to implement the technologies, if they are to enhance their competitive position. It is also fundamental that basic skills and the talent required to implement and use the technologies are developed.
- Promoting collaboration between companies in a range of industrial sectors, technology providers, research centres and others to drive the development of Industry 4.0 solutions and adapt it to the needs of the textile industry.
- Promoting the appropriate actions to introduce Industry 4.0 to the textile industry. The goal is to offset the difficulties faced by textile companies who are undertaking digital transformation.
