On 2nd March 2023, the European Commission (EC) notified the WTO of its intention to amend Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures in order to revise Table 3 of Part 3 of Annex VI of the Regulation by introducing new or revised entries for the harmonisation of the classification and labelling of several substances or groups of substances.
According to the WTO notification, it is proposed that the draft regulation be:
> Adopted from the second quarter of 2023, with entry into force after publication in the OJEU
> Entry into force 18 months after the date of entry into force of the new provisions (potentially the end of 2024).
