The European Commission has requested ECHA to prepare a proposal for an Annex XV restriction on Medium Chain Chlorinated Paraffins (MCCP) (EC 799-971-8, CAS -). The risks to human health and the environment associated with the manufacture, use or sale of medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCP) in substances, mixtures and articles will be assessed.

Interested parties are invited to submit information on the use and releases of MCCP, the socio-economic impacts of a possible restriction, the feasibility of alternatives and the availability of analytical methods.

In addition, the following Annex XV restriction reports have been deferred:

• perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) (EC -, CAS -) in fire fighting foams – until 14 January 2022; and
• N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) (EC 204-826-4, 127-19-5) and 1-ethylpyrrolidin-2-one (NEP) (EC 220-250-6, CAS 2687-91-4) – until 8 April 2022.
